Spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ is a command given to us all. Oftentimes, we feel paralyzed in a spiritual sense to forward the Word of God. This dramatic feeling arrives from the frustration of where. Where do I share the greatness of God? And, to whom? The Apostle Paul writes, “Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation: But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.” In other words, I’m going to preach the gospel in new territory. Paul’s policy was to minister only where no other apostle had gone. We as disciples of Jesus Christ need to embark new territory. And, this territory lies right in our backyard.
Today, many are searching for the next pulpit to climb behind and proclaim the Word, but Jesus said, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15)” We are too concerned with the big stage, headlines and bright lights, when in all honesty our very own neighbors are dying lost and going to hell.
Allow us the mentality to engage the largest pulpit known to man… our very own neighborhood. In efforts to shake not only our community, but also, our nation. Revival starts with YOU! 2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine.
